Information before school starts 2025-26
The first day
The school year starts on Monday August 18th, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. We will meet in the schoolyard, where the teachers will meet up with their groups.
If you have booked a room in our dormitory, we ask you to please arrive already at 10.00 a.m. to collect the key to your room. In the schoolyard there will be teachers showing you to the dormitory and answer questions you may have.
You can move in at the earliest on August 18th when the school begins. If you arrive to Borgå before that we can recommend Porvoo Hostel, which is a situated a few blocks from the school.

What you should bring
If you stay in the dormitory, you will need sheets, towels, pillows, a blanket and personal items. The rooms are equipped with a bed, bedside table, table with chair and a cupboard. The kitchen has some dishes, but you can also bring your own. During school days breakfast, lunch, coffee and dinner are served. During weekends the students take care of their meals on their own. Also bring passport photographs for discount tickets for bus and train. It is also worth bringing your bike as it is easy to get around with it in Borgå.

Call the Emergency Assistance before visiting Porvoo Hospital, Reception 116 117 (0 €).
The Emergency Assistance provides advice and evaluates your situation by phone. The service focuses on emergency cases and works 24 hours a day.
