Course description:
Ritual Play is a sensory-based method that invites participants into an interactive play dynamic. A Ritual Play session invites you to a non-verbal encounter where the goal is neither predetermined nor result-oriented. The spontaneous encounter itself is the experience. In Ritual Play, you get to explore play through body contact and interaction, following a few simple rules and boundaries.
You will work in pairs and small groups, and the facilitator will guide you and the whole group through all aspects of the method in a supportive way.
All you need to participate in the workshop is an open mind and a willingness to let go, within the boundaries of the method and your own comfort level. The facilitator is trained and experienced in the Ritual Play method and creates a safe space where all participants can take part according to their own ability. The Ritual Play concept was created by Maria Kronkvist in Finland — you can read more here.
What can you gain from practicing Ritual Play?
Examples include: self-development, self-care, increased awareness, practicing interaction, spontaneity, presence, connecting with people in new ways, discovering your own playfulness, intuition, and sensuality, and relating these to different aspects of your life — and much more.
No prior experience is required. If you have any physical limitations, it is helpful to mention them when registering for the course.
