Welcome to two days of rhythms, music and having fun together!
We begin the day with basic choreography set to pleasant music to strengthen the body, improve blood circulation, and develop a general feel for dance. The classes include foxtrot, tango, waltz, polka, mazurka, and historical dances. Other dances may also be included upon participants’ request, such as calm and elegant rumba or cha-cha-cha.
We will learn the basic steps and movements of the dances, individual dance combinations, and finally perform the dances in their entirety. This program is repeated during the two course days, but with different dance styles.
Come and meet others in the whirl of dance under the guidance of a professional teacher!
No previous experience is required. To participate in the dances, it is good if you are able to move relatively freely; kindly let us know in advance about any possible limitations.
Borgå folkakademi offers coffee and tea during the course.
Lunch break at 11:30–12:15. (Lunch is not included in the course fee. Those who wish so, may have lunch in the school canteen at a cost of €7.50 for seniors and €9.50 for others.)
The course is completely free of charge, but we kindly ask you to register in advance; see details below.
Your teacher is Iana Illiana.
